my cactus has no name yet

I'm trying to figure out what type of cactus he is first.

I've been on the computer for too long now....so this isn't a long catch up post.

It snowed this week. I like the beginning of winter. It's so crisp and beautiful. The drivers who forget that winter does not equal summer driving -- they are just about the only thing I don't like about winter. You know, we wouldn't have an accident every 60 seconds if people drove to condition. Oh well.

I caught the tail end of an Ellen episode while puttering around my apartment on Friday. And this SIX YEAR OLD girl was on the show. She was a very gifted and talented musician. She plays the piano as though she had been trained for years, and was playing her own compositions that she would come up with in 10minutes!!! It was so beautiful.

Pomegranates are yummy. If you've never had one...try it today!

I'm cutting my hair in the next few weeks. Two trusted people in my life have been sent emails with pictures and links and will most likely help me in making the final decision. I need a short, but not too short yet, cut for my pre-NZ hair cut. I plan on going short and shaggy for the trip. A worry free, care-free hair style. It's not like anyone in NZ will have known me pre-cut....so it's an easy cut to make. :)

Pilates are wonderful - and they work. I suggest them to anyone who is looking for a new work out routine.

I dropped Anna off at home last week - and caught glimpse of the "Behemoth" coaster being built at Wonderland. I was in awe.

"The sleek ride will not only rank as the longest, tallest, and fastest at Canada's Wonderland, but in all of Canada as well.

In fact, at 230 feet, Behemoth will take a coveted spot among the world's tallest coasters. With its 85-degree angle of descent, a mere 5 degrees shy of straight down, it will also be one of the steepest.

To fully experience the adrenaline rush of the 230-foot, 85-degree drop, Behemoth's trains will feature a new type of seating that will strip away the front and sides of the cars. Each car will include two rows of two bucket seats. The only safety restraint will be an unobtrusive lap bar. The seats in the back rows will be elevated and placed at the outer edges of the cars so that all riders will have unobstructed views of the hypercoaster mayhem. (A hypercoaster is loosely defined as a thrill machine with a height taller than 200 feet. Like Behemoth, they are generally designed without any inversions and feature extreme height and speed, as well as lots of airtime.)

And what mayhem! The out-and-back layout of Behemoth is deceptively simple. It will leave the station, climb its 230-foot lift hill, navigate the 77-mph, 85-degree drop, and then climb a second huge hill that should deliver a huge pop of airtime. After roaring down the second hill, Behemoth will enter a banked turnaround and deliver more soaring airtime as it flies up and down along three successive hills. A trim brake will tone down the momentum so that the coaster can spiral through a double helix. Two bunny hills will deliver a final couple of airtime pops before Behemoth returns to the station.

According to Canada's Wonderland, Behemoth will cost a hefty $26 million and represent the park's largest ride investment in its history. It is scheduled to open when the park opens for its 2008 season in the spring."

I'm excited to announce...

That I am officially back online at my apartment. :)

yay.

I finally hooked up my wireless internet...watched over by this creepy kitty that my land lady is catsitting. I had to set up the account through their home computer, and the whole time this cat was stalking me. He has like mutant paws and seemed like he wanted to be vicious towards me.

But it's all done!!! The hook up and the cat encounter.

And you will finally get official updates with pictures. FINALLY.

First up will be my dinner date last night with Mike and Megarrah, and the yet to be officially named cactus friend of mine (a housewarming present from my brother!).

Oh - yeah, and the pot that the cactus lives in.

My apartment is FINALLY where it should be at...after two more full time days of cleaning to have it all uber sexy for my guests of honour.

It was lovely.

seasonal change

I love how winter slowly introduces itself to the city.

Driving down the DVP this morning, sitting in my car smiling.

Every other car was covered with snow.

The commuters from north and east of the city.

It's snowing in Ontario again. Winter is here.



Maybe, just maybe, this year... there will be enough snow to go tobogganing on my birthday.

I've been waiting 8 years for this to happen. Patiently.
