my backyard...

This is a link to the Earlton airport that my sister sent my brother and I. I thought I would share this link with readers of my blog.

When we were growing up, we lived in Earlton (until I was in grade 3). Not only that, but we lived ON the airport. Literally, there were three houses on the airport. Our backyard was a runway. It was probably one of the coolest experiences. We would explore the area on our bicycles and peak into the airplane hangar and big sand dune pyramid, all the while being stealth like.

There are many stories to share - especially about the air cadets who would do training on the airport - and they would take over the entire airport, including our front yards.

Anyway, if you want to learn more about the history of the Earlton airport, visit this site: http://www.nt.net/airport/
