If it was possible, I would grow a garden of brains for people like this...
Yes - that's probably a mean thing to say. BUT...
...and somehow I am justifying my mean-ess. There are people who cross your path in life that you just want to shake some sense into. I find a lot of these people on the roads that I drive - as a great deal of drivers forget that driving is a priviledge, not a right - and that my life is at stake for their stupidity.
This fine lady, who I would love to offer any amount of common sense to, crossed my path as I was crossing a road on Saturday. I was out enjoying the day after a snow storm, walking around my neighbourhood - doing some errands, when this woman, almost pegged me with her car.
Can I blame her? She did have a stop sign...but she probably didn't see it.
That's because of the amount of snow that fell the day before. Yes, it started snowing at 4am on Friday, and only stopped for a brief moment in the late afternoon, before resuming its steady pace. So, you know, the roads were covered and not the greatest. It was slushy. Most cars had been snow drifted into their parking spots on the roads or in the driveways.
But on Saturday, it was not snowing. Nope. And the stop sign, wasn't snow drifted in. Nope. This woman, who almost HIT ME...I watched in disbelief. She probably took a great deal of time, a mere minute, clearing off her windshield. It was spotless. Her CAR however, was caked in about a foot - 2.5 feet of snow. Her car probably fell victim to blowing snow and the build up on the car was significant.
Did I mention that her windshield was spotless - clear as day.
Oh, but the hood of her car was in fact entirely covered with a wall of snow 2.5 feet high.
HOW on EARTH can you see through your spotless crisp windshield if all you see is a WALL OF SNOW????
Like, honestly, mind blowing. This woman could only see out her side window - which is probably why she almost hit me. But like I can't explain how insane this car looked. Like, WHERE IS A COP WHEN YOU REALLY WANT SOMEONE TO GET IT??? A wall of snow - like she looks out the windshield and it's like a permanent white out. WALL OF SNOW.
Somehow, she managed to turn right onto the adjacent side street.
Lucky for the rest of the walkers/drivers - she crashed her car into a snowbank and got her tires stuck and had to forego any further driving.
Seriously people. This hurts my heart to see who is granted not only drivers' licences - but keys to a car.
And this is just another reason why I wish there was a way to cultivate some common sense and share it with the world.
:)
